On the left and right sides of the fuselage are two vents. ZenBook Pro Duo uses a double cooling fan and five cooling channels for the cooling system. I/O ports include a power input jack, a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 kit and two USB-A 3.1 Gen2 kits, a standard HDMI, and a 3.5 mm composite audio jack.

Virtual digital touchpad NumberPad on the right. This allows the user to switch between the touch digit button and the touch panel function. The touch panel contains heat dissipation mode, switching the display screen up and down, switching to the opening and closing of the second touch screen and power on / off.

ASUS ‘exclusive ScreenPad Plus second touchscreen is the biggest advantage of this ZenBook Pro Duo. It is a 14-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 X 1100) supports a stylus for handwriting input and has a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees. However, the HDR specification does not exist, which slightly degrades the visual perception of the upper and lower screens, which is a great pity.

The second ScreenPad Plus touchscreen, just an enhanced version of the previous ScreenPad smart screen dynamic touchpad, allows users to open multifunctional windows. This time, ASUS also adds support for third-party applications, including video clips, software, etc. They no longer limit a few previous embedded applications.

The multiplex window sync display is also a very useful feature of ScreenPad Plus: ASUS has built-in parameters for the factory multiplex window from 1 to 4, but the user can display more windows by adjusting the window size and also can change the window.

Users can also switch screens on the top and bottom screens at the touch of a button. At a press conference before the show, the demonstration of the Pianotime application is also demonstrated. This is a very good feature for designers and creative workers.

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581): Hardware

Notebook ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo offers as many as two touch screen resolution of 4K. This is the main 15.6-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16: 9. And an additional 14-inch ScreenPad Plus screen, which is installed above the keyboard and has a resolution of 3840×1100 pixels (32: 9). The main screen here is made by technology NanoEdge. That is, it has a very thin frame, like the latest ASUS premium notebooks. In addition, this screen provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

As for the purpose of the additional screen, which, by the way, supports the work with the stylus – it is the same as that of the touch bar MacBook Pro notebooks. Only at ZenBook Pro Duo this most touch panel left much larger and, therefore, more functional.

ASUS engineers made sure that the innovation had practical value and developed special software that allows using ScreenPad Plus as a second display or even two in a special mode divided into two 1080p windows (16: 9).
